Pool Rules (All Years)
Opening Day - Memorial Weekend (Saturday) Closing Day - Labor Day (Monday)
The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all to assure safety and sanitary operation of the pool facilities. Your cooperation in abiding by these conditions should afford pleasant relaxation and recreation for all concerned. Residents are requested to caution their families and guests to observe all rules and regulations and obey the instructions of the lifeguards.
- All persons using the pool will be required wear pool pass wristband, and be able to verify residence upon request. The gate attendant or lifeguard will request any person whose pool pass is not verifiable to leave the pool area. Lost pool passes may be replaced at with a replacement fee – to be determined.
- Guest(s) using the pool facilities is/are subject to the same rules and regulations as those of the Council Members and their families and Council Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests. Council Members must accompany guests at all times. Council Members may not leave guests at the pool. Guest passes must be presented prior to entering the pool area.
- Admission shall be refused to all persons having infectious disease, sore or inflamed eyes, colds, nasal or ear discharges, or any communicable disease of any kind. Persons with excessive sunburns, open sores, or bandages of any kind will not be permitted. All residents MUST wear proper swimming attire (thongs are not permitted) while at the pool. Anyone entering the pool area without proper swim attire will not be permitted beyond the gate guard’s station.
- The lifeguard is responsible for the enforcement of the rules and regulations and is authorized to temporarily deprive any resident or guest of usage of the pool facility. Any person may be barred from the pool for violation of rules and regulations or for any other reason, which jeopardizes the health, comfort, and/or safety of others in the pool area.
- All persons using the pool facility do so at their own risk and sole responsibility. Sussex Square, The Pointe at Harpers Mills and American Dream Reality or their agents do not assume responsibility for any accident, injury or lost or damaged personal property in connection with such use. Council Members and their guests covenant and agree with the parties to hold the parties harmless from any kind and all liabilities and action of whatever nature by any unit owner, lessee, or guest growing out of the use of the swimming pool or pool area for or on account of any loss or damage to life, limb or property.
- The cost of any property damage will be charged to the responsible party.
- The pool may be closed at any time due to either mechanical breakdown or other safety- mandated reason, such as weather.
- Bathrooms, showers, and dressing rooms are segregated by biological sex.
- All persons must shower before entering the pool.
- Running, pushing, wrestling, ball playing, or causing undue disturbances in or about the pool area will not be tolerated. Violators will be asked to leave the pool area.
- Pets are not permitted within the pool area.
- Wheeled vehicles are not permitted in the pool area.
- Spouting of water and similar acts will not be permitted in the pool.
- Abusive and/or profane language, playing of loud music, or breach of peace will not be tolerated.
- ABSOLUTELY NO INTOXICANTS OR GLASS CONTAINERS MAY BE BROUGHT INTO THE POOL AREA.
- Foods will not be consumed on the concrete apron portions of the pool area. Trash and refuse must be placed in the receptacles provided.
- No diving or jumping toward the pool walls will be permitted.
- Inner tubes, flotation devices, mats, and rafts are not permitted in the pool area.
- Infants and children wearing diapers or who are not toilet trained shall be permitted in the wading pool, but must wear tight fitting rubber pants or swim diapers. Children may use the wading pool only when accompanied by a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must remain in the wading pool area with the child at all times. Children over the age of 6 are not permitted to use the wading pool.
- Children under fourteen (14) years of age must be accompanied by the Council Member at all times in the pool area except when receiving swimming instructions. For this purpose Council Member is defined as the owner or owner’s authorized tenant / agent of the Sussex Square Condominium Council, Inc.
- Children will not be permitted to use the deep-water pool area until they can comply with the minimum standards for water safety as determined by the lifeguard. Children who do not swim at a level which is satisfactory to the lifeguard, must be accompanied in the main pool by an adult at all times.
- Children four (4) years of age or less are not permitted in the main pool at any time.
- Children may use the wading pool only when accompanied by a parent who must remain within the fenced area of the wading pool as long as the child is there.
- It shall be the responsibility of the Council Members that their children are orderly and obey all rules and regulations of the pool.
- Children whose height does not exceed the shallowest depth must be accompanied by one of the Council Members in the swimming pool.
- Children older then five (5) may not use the dressing room of the opposite sex.
- The only floatation device that may be used is a U.S. Coast Guard approved life vest. If a child utilizes a life vest, an adult must accompany the child in the main pool.
- These rules may be revised, or additional rules established from time to time, with supplementary or revised rules shall be binding on all persons using the pool facility.
These rules are incorporated into, and become a part of your governing documents and/or lease.
