Discussions with Attorney – Rules

Speaking with Shaleeya Lothery of Fellner Legal Services:

• in general under what authorities can the Board make rules?
• What are the steps?
• Some rules we would like to consider:
  • paying the BOD (may be bylaw not rule?)
  • smoking – smoker pays for air purifier if neighbor complains. If not resolved, smoker should refrain from smoking inside.
  • loud noise after normal daytime hours, we currently stress “be neighborly” approach
  • architectural specifications
  • parking (rules or guidelines?)
  • dumping of bulk trash need a faster response, signage + violation = 3 days to cure instead of 15.
