Motion & Discussions
Mr. Oswinkle’s previous exterior light contract specified replacing the old lights with LED. After doing so, some of the lights stopped working due to old and corroded wires. His crew was able to get all but 2 of the lights working by cleaning up the feed lines to the lights and that work was approve by special meeting November 12, 2025 at a cost of $1250. The remaining 2 lights, one on the end of building 4 (8379) and one on the end of building 6 (8399) have disconnects someplace inside the building. To repair these would require access to all the attics and would be labor intensive. The more cost effective option is to re-route the lines on the exterior of the buildings. The below proposal for $4436 is to re-route the electric on the exterior of the buildings across the base of the roofs.
Motion to approve the proposal submitted by Bright Ideas to re-route the 2 electrical lines to the security exterior lights on building 6 and on building 4 using conduit and in a way that most minimizes the exposure of the lines on the exterior walls and roofs of the units.
The Board tabled this motion to first inspect the areas in question to see what other options may be possible. That walk around inspection led to the question of using solar lights on 8399 and having no light on 8379 as that area is well lit from the neighboring building security light at 8381. These questions have been sent to the electrician (Bright Ideas) (12/2/2025) to see if these are feasible or if there is something else we can do rather than running new electric.
The electrician responded that solar may not be viable because of the amount of electricity needed to cover the area for the length of time of darkness. This will be added to the agenda of a future meeting (March 2026).
Meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM.
